Two men who spent eight hours on a rooftop in a dramatic stand-off with police have been arrested.
They fled after being confronted by officers who saw them tampering with a motorcycle in Kilburn on Tuesday.
The pair climbed onto a roof in Kingsgate Road, where they remained for eight hours after armed officers arrived at the scene.
Dramatic footage from the incident showed the duo throwing roof tiles at police below as they attempted to avoid arrest.
Police were alerted to the two men at about 5pm, and the pair did not climb down until 1am on Wednesday morning.
They have both since been arrested and remain in custody.
Specialist firearms officers attended the incident and a police cordon was put in place.
There had been reports that one of the suspects was in possession of a gun.
“A member of the public reported seeing one of the men in possession of a firearm,” a police spokesman said amid the stand-off.
“This has not yet been confirmed,” he said at the time.
