Two areas of Merseyside warned to keep windows and doors locked

Police have issued a warning to people living in two areas of Merseyside after they saw an increase in reports of burglary.

Merseyside Police has made a plea to people living in South Wirral, particularly Bromborough and Eastham, after they saw an increase in burglaries in the area. They have asked homeowners to take extra care to ensure that "windows and doors are locked" before leaving the house and to make sure they make sure their burglary alarms are working if they have one.

Police also said they have increased patrols in the area to help deal with the rising issue. However, despite the increased presence of the authorities, they told people living in South Wirral to 'be vigilant'.

"Please ensure that your windows and doors are locked before going out or to bed and if you have an alarm, use it. We have increased patrols in the area.

"Be vigilant."
