The Minnesota Vikings lost a tough game to the Cincinnati Bengals on Saturday afternoon by a score of 27-24 in overtime.
Despite turning the ball over two times with interceptions from Nick Mullens, the Vikings had a chance to win the game with the ball in overtime but failed on consecutive tush push plays. It didn’t help the opinion of fans that Brandon Powell was the player assigned to be the pusher.
Fans are a very passionate group. They live and die by what happens to their favorite team on game day and it is reflected in what is posted on social media.
Twitter was ablaze after the game on Saturday with “Fire KOC” trending and it elicited some fascinating responses.
Seeing fire KOC takes when his team is playing .500 with this group of QBs in his 2nd year of being an HC, fandom is not real lmao

I see Fire KOC is trending and I just have one thing to say.
Absolutely not. Doing so would be incredibly stupid

Fire KOC, give the HC job to Flores
— Bill Quick (@BillsQuick) December 16, 2023
Fire KOC. Guy has zero clue how to manage a game and his play calling when they need it is absolute garbage.

Fire KOC Agenda is real… #Skol
— Skol Crusader ✝️ (@KirkCrusader) December 16, 2023
I see Fire KOC trending. Fans of NFL teams really do want their coach fired after every loss.
That Mullens tush push wasn't a good idea. Vikings are 7-7 in a year in which everything screamed big regression from all those close wins last season to all the injuries.

“Fire KOC” is trending. This franchise is cooked.
— Coffee Black (@VikesRealist) December 16, 2023
Fire KOC on the spot . Powell as the pusher 2 PLAYS IN A ROW?!
— Zach Jacobson (@Kid_Cubi) December 16, 2023
Just fire KOC. Make Flores head coach or get belichick. I can’t take his late game play calling anymore.
— Logical Leprechaun 🇺🇸 (@cnmahr) December 16, 2023
Fire KOC is trending lol. Laughably dumb. Currently making the playoffs without Kirk and JJ half the year is absolutely outperforming expectation regardless of how the year ends. What a lack of perspective and just an idiotic opinion in general.

Bad playcall, very bad individual performance at CB. I don’t believe we should fire koc. We are playing with a backup qb and we’re missing our starting right tackle. We’ve been riddled with injuries this season and are still competitive. Put your bias aside
— Bennett (@bennetttorgers1) December 16, 2023
Fire KOC and Promote Flores this off-season
— Jake Juracek (@JuracekPark20) December 16, 2023
If you think we should fire KOC you are stupid
— ? (@JjettasForMVP) December 16, 2023
I’m not ready to fire KOC. BUT- if you had to chose KOC or lose Flores I know who I’m picking.
— Eric (@MNsportsguy69v2) December 16, 2023
Need one yard. Two plays in a row.
Give it to Ty Chandler / CJ Ham ? Nah, see if the bag of jello Nick Mullens can do it.
Fire KOC. Now. #skol
— Wade Davidson (@Wade_davidson10) December 16, 2023
hear me out fire KOC and just make Flores HC
— Rip (@Wolf_Gang_84) December 16, 2023
Can we Fire KOC yet? He sucks at play calling
— Chad Tweedt (@tweedter75) December 16, 2023
Fire KOC into the sun. Just awful
— 🐺 (@John_Nissan) December 16, 2023
I see "Fire KOC" trending right now, and I think that would be a huge mistake.
Be careful what you wish for Vikings fans.
There are very few coaches who could win with the current QB situation, and they are still in the hunt for the playoffs.
— Blue Balled Sports (@blueballedsport) December 16, 2023
The Vikes should fire KOC after this game and give the job to Flores. What an idiot. Absolute idiot. #Vikings
