Twitter reacts to Titans signing TE Austin Hooper

After what seemed like forever (it’s only been four days), and after watching several talented tight ends come off the board in free agency, the Tennessee Titans have found their guy.

According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the Titans and Austin Hooper have agreed on a one-year deal for $6 million, a reasonable price for the starting tight end.

Hooper, who was cut by the Cleveland Browns earlier this offseason, will now be TE1 for the Titans and is no doubt an upgrade.

After rolling with a trio of one-dimensional tight ends in 2021, Hooper gives the Titans a starting-caliber player who can both block and be an effective pass-catcher.

While his numbers took a dive in Cleveland, he was one of the better pass-catching tight ends while with the Atlanta Falcons, where he posted a pair of 600-plus-yard seasons and made two Pro Bowls.

After fearing that the team’s TE1 was going to be the Swaim train, Titans fans were mostly happy with the signing.
