It wasn’t pretty, but the Tennessee Titans managed to escape Nissan Stadium in Week 3 with a 24-22 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders.
With the win, the Titans avoid an 0-3 start, improving to 1-2 instead, and the sky can stop falling in Nashville for a week.
A win is a win, but the Titans did it in about as inconsistent a fashion as one could imagine.
After looking like a well-oiled machine in the first half en route to a 24-10 lead, Tennessee didn’t score another point the rest of the way for the second straight game.
Needing a big effort from their defense to overcome that, the Titans got just enough from the unit in what was the definition of a bend-but-don’t-break performance.
Putting the ugliness of what we saw in the second half aside for now, the Titans and their fans can breathe a sigh of relief ahead of a huge divisional showdown with the Indianapolis Colts in Week 4.
Now, a look at how Twitter reacted to Sunday’s result.
Titans got super conservative (as usual) and made that WAYYYYY harder than it needed to be, but a huge win nonetheless with a trip to Indy on deck.

Terrance Mitchell is better than Caleb Farley? #Titans

The #Titans 2nd half woes continue, as they were outscored by the Raiders 12-0 in the entire 2nd half.
Pretty lucky they're playing a terrible Raiders offense that decided to only have Adams run routes 2 yards beyond the LOS.

Death, taxes, and the Titans getting themselves together after they’ve been written off by everyone.

#Titans literally just quit doing all the things they did in the first half to build a lead. It’s wild.

Derrick Henry gained 65 of his season-high 85 rush yds after initial contact, nearly as many yds after contact as he gained in his 1st 2 games this season combined (71).#Titans improved to 19-3 in Henry’s career when he gains at least 60 rush yds after contact. @ESPNStatsInfo
