Georgia quarterback Stetson Bennett was a key part of the Bulldogs’ dominant national championship victory over the TCU Horned Frogs. Bennett finished the national championship with six total touchdowns and 343 total yards.
Bennett and Georgia are back-to-back national champions. The 5-foot-11, 190-pound quarterback from Blackshear, Georgia, walked on to Georgia in 2017. He transferred away from Athens to Jones College, but returned for the 2019 college football season.
Georgia constantly told him he couldn’t start, but Bennett did not give up. He ended his college career 29-3 as the starting quarterback. Bennett, who was never highly recruited, now looks to get a shot in the NFL.
Here’s what former Georgia players had to say about Bennett as he played his final snaps as a Georgia Bulldog:
Jordan Davis: make a movie
Former Georgia defensive tackle Jordan Davis is quite familiar with Stetson Bennett’s story.
Since y’all already in Hollywood, y’all can start working on the movie #Mailman 😭😭 #GoDawgs

We agree with that, Taverres!
Stetson proves the doubters wrong again
Numerous fans were saying Bennett should not return to Georgia for another season after the 2021 national championship.
Stetson Bennett represents everything that’s good about college football. Believed in himself and proved everyone wrong.

Stetson Bennett: greatest player in Georgia history?
Stetson Bennett has arguably surpassed Herschel Walker as Georgia’s best ever following his victory in the national championship. It took Stetson a few more years, but winning back-to-back national championships is tough to beat.
Zero debate. He earned it and is a legend in Athens forever.
