The Indianapolis Colts and left guard Quenton Nelson struck a historic deal late Saturday night that made the three-time All-Pro the highest-paid guard in the history of the NFL.
Nelson’s deal is reportedly four years worth $80 million with $20 million guaranteed, first reported by Adam Schefter of ESPN. It isn’t yet clear if the extension is entirely new money but considering the history of Chris Ballard’s extensions, it’s likely that the new money begins following the 2022 season.
