Islam Makhachev added another win to his stellar resume Saturday when he thwarted Bobby Green in the makeshift UFC Fight Night 202 main event.
Makhachev (22-1 MMA, 11-1 UFC) extended his winning streak to a remarkable 10 consecutive fights with a first-round TKO victory over Green (29-13-1 MMA, 10-8-1 UFC), who stepped in for Beneil Dariush as a short-notice replacement at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.
The fight was contested at a 160-pound catchweight, but Makhachev’s win positioned him high in the title shot queue in the lightweight division.
