Twitter reacts to Giants signing Andrew Thomas to contract extension

The New York Giants have secured one of their franchise cornerstones through the 2029 season after locking up left tackle Andrew Thomas with a long-term contract extension on Wednesday morning.

The team has since confirmed the signing, and according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Thomas’ deal is for five years and is worth $117.5 million, with a whopping $67 million guaranteed.

While Thomas’ annual average ($23.5 million) did not surpass Houston Texans left tackle Laremy Tunsil’s ($25 million), it does rank second in the NFL, per Over the Cap.

And, as Schefter notes, the fully guaranteed money in Thomas’ deal is a new record for offensive linemen.

After years of ineptitude along the offensive line, the Giants finally found themselves a rock for the blindside, and Thomas’ rise to one of the best in the sport has helped spur on a resurgence upfront for the franchise.

Here’s a look at how Twitter reacted to the Giants rightly taking care of Thomas.
