The Denver Broncos signed left tackle Garett Bolles to a four-year, $82 million contract extension on Thursday. Here’s a sampling of how fans and pundits reacted to the news on Twitter/X.
Bo Nix’s blindside now has protection through the 2028 season and the Broncos have Pat Surtain, Quinn Meinerz, Jonathon Cooper and Garett Bolles signed through the duration of Nix’s rookie deal. https://t.co/KWe1JYlVt0

Happy for Bolles. I wrote about this a few weeks ago. #Broncos absolutely needed to keep him. He has allowed one sack this season. There is no replacement on roster and they need to go a different direction for weapons in draft. Love this move. Bolles made it clear to me he… https://t.co/sjsuH9hhFq

Bolles gets a 4 year extension!! Great move to keep this dominant line together pic.twitter.com/785WCWt1q6

LOVE it for the Denver Broncos
Lock up a quality LT for 4 years, with an out likely after 2, and the deal is a relative bargain. @nickkorte projected $20M AAV last year, before Bolles’ terrific ‘24 and a record-setting spike in the salary cap

This Garett Bolles contract extension makes him the sixth highest paid left tackle in the NFL and the 8th highest paid tackle overall.
It’s a discount for how well he’s played this year. It’s a little more money for the guys around him. It’s insurance for Nix blindside.

Bolles one of NFL’s top left tackles. Per PFF he’s No 3-rated tackle in pass protection. Has allowed just one sack this year.
Broncos’ longest-tenured player (1st-rd, 2017) will be a Bronco a few more years. “I want to be a Bronco for life,” Bolles said in camp. His 3rd contract. https://t.co/pSHTx3ojq3— MikeKlis9NEWS (@mikeklis9news) December 12, 2024
Bolles, Surtain, Cooper all locked up on what reasonable deals. $100M free agency incoming. Super Bowl contenders in 2025.

The Broncos now have all five current starters on their offensive line under contract through 2025 and all but center Luke Wattenberg signed through 2026.

Thrilled for Broncos LT Garrett Bolles resigning. One of the best redemption stories in Broncos lore gets even better. From being labeled a bust, to a 2nd contract, and now a 3rd?! He was an iron man & fox hole guy in the down yrs. Glad he’ll reap the benefits in the winning yrs.

Funny story: I saw Garett Bolles in the locker room yesterday and he cheerfully asked how my afternoon was going.
Circled back to him later and asked if he had a couple minutes to chat.
He said, “I’m not talkin’ today, boss.”
Guessing he figured he’d be talking today.

Garett Bolles will likely finish his career as a Denver Bronco.
Pretty rare for a player to play with one team their entire career.
Very cool.

Bolles didn’t have to take that discount but he did
that man truly loves this franchise and should be a Ring of Fame member after he retires

For everyone thinking the Broncos will be aggressive in free agency this offseason, they were right about being aggressive.
It just turned out to be aggressive in extending their own players (PS2, Meinerz, Cooper, Bolles).

Bolles, 32, is now under contract through the 2028 season.
