The Washington Commanders began their search for a new head of football operations on Monday. On Friday, Washington hired its top target, San Francisco 49ers assistant GM Adam Peters.
Peters was widely considered the most coveted GM candidate on the market, with many finding it difficult to believe he’d leave San Francisco. Over the past two years, Peters has turned down multiple opportunities to interview.
Why Washington?
It’s a new day. Does anyone believe Peters even picks up the phone if Daniel Snyder called for an interview? New owner Josh Harris and his ownership group quickly identified Peters as their top target and closed on him within the week. With Peters in place, Washington will now turn its attention to finding a head coach.
