the Chargers have spent the 2nd most $$$ on their defense the last 2 years of any team
they've tied up the 4th most cap on defense the last 3 years
and yet, since hiring Staley, their defense ranks:

Again, you're not gonna get an argument from me: Herbert stunk and him + the O Line are the reasons they lost the game.
But you can't just be satisfied with the defense racking up penalties and horrific 3rd down conversions by just pointing to the scoreboard.

LAC defense gave up a 3rd & 11 for 60 yds.
LAC defense gave up a 3rd & 19 (penalty, automatic 1st down).

O-line was off. Herbert was off. The run game was off. Everything was off. Just an all-around ugly game.
