The Denver Broncos defeated the Los Angeles Chargers 16-9 on Sunday afternoon but results elsewhere eliminated the Broncos from NFL playoff contention.
Here’s a sampling of how Twitter/X reacted on Sunday.

Broncos win 16-9 to improve to an 8-8 record.
But are eliminated from the playoffs. #9sports

The Broncos are eliminated from playoff contention almost simultaneously as they get to 8-8.
Too little too late for this team, with a wide variety of golden opportunities despite starting 1-5.

Another year of no playoffs tbh. Typical broncos. No surprise here.

Broncos eliminated from playoff contention but at least I don’t have to hear from Raiders fans if they would’ve eliminated us from playoff contention next week pic.twitter.com/WFxElGHldk

Now that the Broncos are eliminated from the playoffs, I hope we see a few of the young players get more playing time.
Riley Moss is the big one. George Paton traded a future 3rd to draft him, and he's barely played on defense.

I wanted to make the playoffs (obviously) but I also REALLY want to finish above .500 for the first time in a minute…from 5-12 to 9-8 would be some serious progress #BroncosCountry

Hard not to close the Broncos’ home schedule without thinking about what could have been.
Losses to the Raiders, Commanders, Jets and Patriots all happened after the Broncos led at halftime.
Too many giveaways for a team with as many veterans as Denver has.

Welp, there goes Broncos playoff hopes. Can’t wait for our undefeated season, next season

Sean Payton said he wanted a "spark" from the offense. I'm not quite sure what we saw today with Jarrett Stidham qualified, especially after halftime.
The Broncos grind out a 16-9 win. And results elsewhere eliminate the Broncos from playoff consideration at 8-8.

Broncos improve to 8-8.
Next week, they have a chance to secure the Broncos first winning season in 7 years

I learned absolutely nothing about the Broncos today, and now they have also been eliminated from the playoffs.
I do not enjoy my football team right now. and they just won

Up next for the Broncos is a road game against the Las Vegas Raiders to close out the 2023 season. The winner of that game will clinch second place in the AFC West.
