The Denver Broncos lost to the Buffalo Bills 31-7 in the Wild Card round of the NFL playoffs on Sunday afternoon.
Here’s a sampling of how fans and pundits reacted to the game on Twitter/X.

Idk man this guy needs to get his act together.— Frankie Abbott (@FrankiesFilm) January 12, 2025
Buffalo, you better beat the Chiefs after this. It’s now your duty to America and to GOD

Way too many opportunities squandered by Denver.
Buffalo did what they have done all season, play clean football and pull away.
Great rookie season by Bo Nix#BroncosCountry

The game itself sucked, but a humbling 31-7 defeat that shows this young core they’ve still got a long ways to go to get to where they want to be could prove to be a blessing in disguise
— Zach Segars (@Zach_Segars) January 12, 2025
Very proud of this team, this season. Far exceeded expectations with a lot of young players to build on, including a Franchise QB. “Much better than a 5 win team” “worst roster in football” “check down merchant”

Bo Nix did what he could today. His receivers and play calling failed him tbh pic.twitter.com/GjvBWHUxEc

Tough loss but the season was a success for the @Broncos. Team made improvements, made the playoffs, and we finally have a quarterback! Bright future ahead.
We BOlieve! pic.twitter.com/17950Mcls3— Brad Williams (@funnybrad) January 12, 2025
Well, let’s look at the positives @Broncos:
– Ending the playoff drought.
– Getting Bo Nix some PO experience.
– Getting a better draft position.
– 2025 looks promising already.@ZacStevensDNVR @MaseDenver @FrankiesFilm @redwardsradio— Jacob Barkfeld (@JacobBarkfeld) January 12, 2025
The #Broncos season is over, but it was unquestionably a MASSIVE success.
For one reason:
They found their franchise QB. pic.twitter.com/PN0dGamzuu

Broncos weren’t even supposed to be here, didn’t even think they would win today, this season was already a success. pic.twitter.com/YCcxs3QDXT

I had hoped for a closer game (didn’t expect a win so that would have been a bonus) but it’s still good to see the Broncos in the playoffs again.
Just need to keep building. Plenty of work to do this offseason.

I’m pretty green, but making the playoffs this season with a rookie QB despite the extreme team-building limitations, while developing the roster to the extent we’ve seen (including 3 new All-Pros emerging), is *at least* a top-four coaching job I can remember from Broncos
— Zach Segars (@Zach_Segars) January 12, 2025
A loss like this going to motivate George Paton and Sean Payton the same way Super Bowl 48 motivated John Elway
— Sayre Bedinger (@SayreBedinger) January 12, 2025
It’s sad for the season to end like this, but I’m still proud of this Broncos team. O/U was 5.5 wins, yet they made the playoffs with a rookie QB with a lack of weapons and a nonexistent run game. A lot to build on & some great pieces to build around. Go Broncos, forever.

In a year that started w/ the lowest expectations of any during this dark stretch in Denver, the Broncos hit on a rookie QB and went to the damn playoffs. Forget today’s ahead-of-schedule loss. There is light where it was once dark.
And the Broncos are just getting started.

Everything about this Broncos-Bills game has been predictable, but ultimately should be a good thing in Denver’s trajectory. It’s illuminating for where the roster + talent shortcomings are, what the gap is to the elite AFC teams. Invaluable experience for Nix.

Ugh, wadda ya gonna do?!? Great effort this season and first @Broncos Playoff Game in a long time. 👏 Not the ending we hoped for but the team’s trajectory is up and to the right. #BroncosCountry pic.twitter.com/uk36YWp0wm

Always sad to see a season come to an end, but it’s hard to be disappointed. The Broncos exceeded all expectations this year.
-Bo Nix is the QB of the future.
-Sean Payton created a winning culture.
-Ownership is best in the league
-Defense led the league in sacks.

Tremendous season for the @Broncos. They carried over $85 million in dead money this year, relied on a ton of young guys on both sides of the ball, and found their quarterback.
Going will be tough in the AFC West, but Denver’s future is bright.
— Albert Breer (@AlbertBreer) January 12, 2025
Kudos to the Broncos. Navigated a playoff season with a partial Cap.
2024 dead money included:
Tim Patrick: $6 million
Randy Gregory: $7 million
And the biggest charge ever:
Russell Wilson: $53 million.— Andrew Brandt (@AndrewBrandt) January 12, 2025
#Broncos’ season ends with 31-7 loss to Bills. Denver finishes 10-8. They leave year knowing they have a franchise QB, core of defense returning and strong offensive line. But need more playmakers offensively. There are other issues. But that was laid bare again today as Denver…
— Troy Renck (@TroyRenck) January 12, 2025
That’s game.
What an awesome season, man. We’ve got our franchise QB, and he rewrote some record books. We doubled our expected win total. We’re on our way out of cap hell and have all of our top picks.
The future is bright, & that matters so much more than 7-31 does right now.
— T. Kothe (@tkothe_nfl) January 12, 2025
Don’t let anyone tell you this Broncos season was anything but an absolute success.
This team is wayyy ahead of schedule and finally has a franchise quarterback.
The future is incredibly bright 🔵🟠 pic.twitter.com/6PvgAvwHjZ

The naysayers will have a field day today, but this Broncos team is headed in the right direction. Despite a $91M cap crater, they made the playoffs & found a viable rookie QB. In the last 2 years, the ship has been turned around. If you can’t see that, you’re blind or ignorant.
— Andrew Mason (@MaseDenver) January 12, 2025
The hard-knock playoff experience the @Broncos got today will help them improve. They’ve found their QB in Bo Nix and took big strides forward, despite playing with a massive dead-cap hit that impacted their roster. This was a terrific season; looking forward to what’s next.
— Shawn Drotar (@sdrotar) January 12, 2025
Just want this game to end. But remember, the @broncos are waaaay ahead of schedule. Always miserable to lose in blowout fashion. Always sucks when it’s your last game. But no shame in the fast track they took to get here. Broncos are back.
— Vic Lombardi (@VicLombardi) January 12, 2025
Up next for several Broncos players is the Pro Bowl in February. Attention will then turn to the NFL combine, followed by NFL free agency in March.
