Sean Payton had a night to forget against the Kansas City Chiefs on Thursday Night Football in Week 6.
On the same night that Payton confused fourth down for third down and called timeout to help the Chiefs kick a field goal before halftime, the Denver Broncos’ head coach also had a large part of his play sheet broadcast on national television.
This blunder is not necessarily on Payton. TV networks shouldn’t show a close shot of a team’s play sheet, but Amazon’s Prime Video cameras gave football fans a 4K view of Payton’s plays on Thursday night.
Here’s a sampling of how Twitter/X reacted.

Using Dots instead of check marks ✅ to mark off the plays bothers me irrationally and I don’t know why https://t.co/g7S0UuQAEa

People say Payton is trash but he’s putting out a masterclass in tanking right before your eyes. One of the best performances in the history of sports. https://t.co/sBbcsYDDXF

"You can copy the whole Denver Broncos playbook!"
"Why would you want to?" https://t.co/g68rS4ILCl

Did anyone notice in Sean Payton's play sheet it says Red Area instead of Red Zone.
I know he specifically means from the 20 to the 14 but i still find it funny. pic.twitter.com/6VF6q70b3S

Sean Payton is a joke. First of all you need to rename all your plays because you showed your play sheet on tv. Secondly over half this sheet calls for 22 personnel which according to PFF they have only run on 5% of plays. FRUAD! pic.twitter.com/APlKCdY3mC

Sean Payton’s plays are now public knowledge.
“22P ALLSTATE” – play call specific for Mahomes.
“22P Google” – only tech company to make it to the sheet.
None of these plays work so not a big deal .. pic.twitter.com/eguatCWv6e

Knowing Sean Payton… he's gonna lose his goddamn mind when he finds out how much of the play sheet — with the dots and his notes — made it onto the broadcast.
YIKES. https://t.co/tEcUzbYz1S

The Broncos went on to lose 18-9 in Kansas City. Payton might want to spend some time during the team’s unofficial mini bye this weekend to update some of the names of the team’s plays after Thursday’s mishap.
