The Cleveland Browns have taken not one, but two Ohio State Buckeyes’ offensive linemen in the 2023 NFL draft. After selecting offensive tackle Dawand Jones in the fourth round, the Browns now return to Columbus to bring their center Luke Wypler up I-71 North as well. Addressing plenty of their needs in free agency, it is clear the Browns are attacking the draft based on value rather than based on position.
With one pick left to go before closing out the draft, we once again turn to Twitter to see how the selection of Wypler was received. It is phenomenal value, so there is no real reason to be too upset.
No clue how Luke Wypler lasted this long. One of the smartest players at the position. Bad news for Nick Harris (last year of his deal), but a very Harris-esque selection when they got a quality player late. pic.twitter.com/yuy4xGeAb5

#Browns C Luke Wypler ranked top-10 among qualifying centers in the Power-5 in both pass-blocking (84.1) and run-blocking grade (81.0) in 2022.

No clue why Luke Wypler lasted as long as he did. If there's no major medical red flag or something I don't know, that's a great pick by the Browns.

Good developmental pick by the Browns with Luke Wypler. Really fits that offense with his ability to move. Needs to get stronger but look at him work in space: pic.twitter.com/m7DmaaT4ad

If your team needs a center both Luke Wypler and Olu Oluwatimi are still out there…tremendous value

Luke Wypler and Dawand Jones couldn't be more different.
Dawand Jones is a starter home with incredible power.
Wypler is small, underpowered, wins with leverage and athleticism
They made up 40% of the Buckeyes offensive line.

And Luke Wypler needs to fire whoever talked him into turning pro. My goodness.

Luke Wypler finally comes off the board in what was a tremendous steal by the Cleveland Browns. Why did he fall? 1- Short Arms 2- Undersized 3- Teams view him solely as a center versus a guard/center combo. Still- a terrific prospect

Luke Wypler is a OC prospect in the 2023 draft class. He scored a 9.31 #RAS out of a possible 10.00. This ranked 41 out of 578 OC from 1987 to 2023. https://t.co/1w02phdPHA pic.twitter.com/APCmeHpR4v

Luke wypler finally goes. I think he really lacks play strength but has really quick feet and hands. Good value in the 6th. Browns nail another pick.

Browns having an amazing draft IMO. Cedric Tillman, Siaki Ika, Isaiah McGuire, Dawand Jones and Luke Wypler.

Luke Wypler in the 6th round is a huge steal he played very well against Georgia limited Georgia DL Jalen Carter in the CFP Semifinal
This is the best pick of the day in my opinion for any team

RD 6 | PK 190 – Browns: Luke Wypler OC, Ohio State
The top rated player remaining on the board by overall draft score (79), Wypler cleared key thresholds in the three cone (7.64), broad jump (8-foot-10) and forty (5.14) that indicate starter ability at the next level. pic.twitter.com/Jp52481bW1
