The Tennessee Titans elevated their record to 6-3 after their 17-10 victory over the Denver Broncos, who now fall to 3-6.
It wasn’t pretty by any means, but the Titans’ elite defense not only survived without seven total starters, it excelled on a day when many presumed they were doomed.
Tennessee consistently harassed Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson, who was sacked six times and hit 18 times overall.
It truly was a master-class performance from Titans head coach Mike Vrabel and the entire defensive staff. Unfortunately, the same couldn’t be said for Todd Downing and his occasionally atrocious “creative” play-calling that appears to cost the Titans way more than it helps them.
As you would imagine, Titans twitter had mixed reactions thanks to the respective performances of the offense and defense.
Some voiced their satisfaction with the defensive performance, while others are rightfully becoming more impatient with the offensive struggles and crippling play calls that are questionable at best.
Nonetheless, this was a hard-fought and impressive win that should keep Titans fans optimistic thanks to a defense that will always give them a chance.
Having said all that, let’s take a look at the Twitter reaction following Sunday’s victory that gave the Titans their sixth win in seven tries.
Mike Vrabel, Shane Bowen, & Jim Schwartz are phenomenal.
They were down SIX starters after David Long went down (7 counting Harold Landry), and they still held their opponent to only 10 points while consistently harassing Russell Wilson all damn day.#Titans

That's a fantastic win for the Titans. Great job by Mike Vrabel and his staff to overcome injuries and as strong and gutty of an effort as we've seen from Ryan Tannehill this year.

Russell Wilson has been hit 18 times today vs #Titans
OL a problem, but play design is biggest concern IMHO. Wilson needs to play better, but Hackett needs to help him with better offensive plan. #Broncos @1043TheFan

The #Titans would be 7-2 at worst if they didn’t have 7 starters hurt on defense…

The #Broncos score just 10 points coming out of their bye against a #Titans defense missing DT Jeffery Simmons, S Amani Hooker, DE Bud Dupree and LB Zach Cunningham.
The offensive struggles continue. Luckily for them this wasn't on primetime.

#Titans now 6-3.
Mike Vrabel is the COY at this point. Convince me otherwise.— Dale Ryman (@DaleRyman_WSAW) November 13, 2022
The #Titans picked the right year to be elite on defense and extremely meh on offense.
The entire NFL is meh on offense this year. That defense and running game might actually work in 2022.

Also, Tannehill heated up as the game went on and clearly brought some life to the passing offense despite facing the #1 pass defense in the NFL.
