Social media platform Twitter appears to be experiencing issues on Wednesday morning, with people complaining that while they can access the site, their feeds appear completely empty and void of Tweets.
Instead of being greeted by an abundance of posts from people they are following, users are today reporting that they are greeted with a message reading: "Welcome to Twitter! This is the best place to see what’s happening in your world. Find some people and topics to follow now."
According to popular error website, Down Detector, 4,894 users reported problems with Twitter shortly after 10.00am this morning. A massive surge when compared to a usual baseline of just four reports in normal circumstances.

And while many would usually flock to the platform to flag their social media issues, they instead took to rivalling Facebook to flag the issue with others. One user, penned: "Seems like Twitter is down. The beginning," while another, added: "USER REPORTS INDICATE TWITTER EXPERIENCING ISSUES: DOWNDETECTOR."
A third, wrote: "I had to come to the village to see if wasn't just trippin. Elon has no idea what he's doing," while a fourth, added: "Twitter is down soo Facebook it is!"
Since his takeover of Twitter, owner Elon Musk has faced widespread criticism for his updates to the way the platform works. Late last year, Twitter Blue launched - giving social media users the option to verify their account and receive a coveted 'Blue Tick' - with the subscription service costing $8/month or $84/year.
The project was quickly slammed as a 'vanity project' by some social media users, while others questioned why verification isn't mandatory but free to prevent online trolling.
More recently, Elon decided to deactivate mobile authentication for Twitter users who weren't subscribed to Twitter Blue. On the topic, he added: "Use of free authentication apps for 2FA will remain free and are much more secure than SMS."
