Twitter has temporarily closed its offices in Dublin and the rest of the world as employees are leaving the company in droves.
The social media giant has seen a massive exodus of workers after new CEO Elon Musk sent out an ultimatum to sign up for more intense working hours to build a "hardcore" Twitter or be let go with three months' severance pay. An email was sent out on Wednesday asking staff to decide if they wanted to be a part of the "new" Twitter by 5pm US Easter Time on Thursday.
It is believed that hundreds of employees rejected this offer and opted to leave the company instead. This has resulted in Musk backpedalling on his previous demand that employees should work from the office.

In an email to employees, Musk said they could now work from home and that "all that is required for approval is that your manager takes responsibility for ensuring you are making an excellent contribution". People will also be expected to have "in-person meetings with your colleagues on a reasonable cadence, ideally weekly, but not less than once per month".
Since the acquisition of Twitter, Musk cut a whopping half of its workforce of 7,500. #RIPTwitter and #GoodbyeTwitter have been trending on the site as a number of users have been gearing up to leave for other social media websites. However, Musk has continued to tweet jokes and memes about the current situation.
