At long last, we have a teaser for the live-action Twisted Metal TV series and a premiere date.
On Tuesday, Peakcock released the first-ever trailer for Twisted Metal. It’ll be a loose adaptation of the classic PlayStation franchise starring none other than Anthony Mackie (The Falcon and the Winter Solider). Other confirmed actors include Stephanie Beatriz (Brooklyn Nine-Nine), Thomas Haden Church (Spider-Man: No Way Home), and Will Arnett (Arrested Development). Quite a stacked cast, all told.
Check out the trailer for yourself below. It doesn’t give away much about the story, but you can catch a glimpse of pro-wrestler Samoa Joe’s take on Sweet Tooth – Twisted Metal‘s sadistic clown and unofficial mascot.
Twisted Metal premieres on July 27, 2023, for Peakcock – a little over three months from now.
Interestingly enough, Will Arnett is voicing Sweet Tooth while Samoa Joe is in costume – so both actors will bring the character to life. It’s very similar to how David Prowse donned the Darth Vader suit for Star Wars: A New Hope, while James Earl Jones was responsible for voiceover.
Horror fans will be happy to hear that Nev Campbell (Scream) is part of the Twisted Metal cast as well – though we don’t see her in the trailer.
