Twist and Pulse struggled to hide their BGT victory after snap with trophy

Britain's Got Talent's spin-off show The Champions came to a dramatic close over the weekend, with dance pair Twist and Pulse crowned the victors.

But the duo - real names Ashley Glazebrook and Glen Murphy - have admitted that it was a struggle to keep it all a secret after they pre-recorded the show in July.

They had their picture taken with the coveted trophy outside Wembley Arena, and they battled to keep the snap from doing rounds on social media.

Since then, Ashley and Glen have dedicated a huge amount of time deleting fans' tweets of the photo so they didn't spoil the show for others.

Ashley revealed to The Mirror : "It's one of those things when you've got that many people in the crowd.

"Some people uploaded videos of it and screenshots, it's so hard. We used to just perform and leave the building and that's it and hope it didn't come out."

Ashley added: "We wanted to keep it so fans could experience the show the way it's meant to be done rather than spoiling it because it takes the fun out of it."

After their win, they reflected: "Auditioning for the show nine years ago was the best decision we ever made; we never could imagining finishing as runners-up.

"To return on BGT: The Champions was an honour in itself but to go on and be crowned champions is mind-blowing."

The crowd went wild as they took to the stage to jive to the Love Island and I'm A Celebrity themes.

The routine gave them the edge over another dance duo - the father-son team Stavros Flatley.

Some fans reckoned the German Alexa Lauenburger and her dancing dogs should have had the win after she choreographed the pooches to Christina Aguilera's smash hit Candyman.
