Stephen Frears’ and Nick Hornby’s thoughtful series continues to itemise the disintegrating marriage of Ellen and Scott (Patricia Clarkson and Brendan Gleeson). Much of it feels pretty universal – imperfections are heightened but a connection remains. Tonight, Scott learns surprising new information about Ellen that highlights their loss of true intimacy.
