Everyone Else Burns

10pm, Channel 4

It’s the series finale of the hit comedy starring Simon Bird and Sian Clifford, and the eternal fires of damnation are close enough to singe the cuffs of David’s haircloth trousers as Maude’s machinations get him excommunicated from the Order. But perhaps there is hope of salvation yet? Meanwhile, Joshua flees his wedding day in panic. Ellen E Jones

Ambulance

9pm, BBC One

A young man risks losing a foot after falling off a wall at a climbing centre – will the north London response team be able to put him back together again? Elsewhere, a woman with Rett syndrome explains how much the ambulance service has helped her deal with severe daily challenges. Hollie Richardson

Taskmaster

9pm, Channel 4

What a series it has been. As Zaltzman, Sidi, Aléshé, Dee and Jones go for gold, the tasks are as sharp as the disappointment four of them will feel at the end of the night. But before the winner is crowned, there are raw onions to eat, a giant egg to whack and a search for some tiny chairs. Hannah Verdier

David Nicholls Remembers: Far from the Madding Crowd

9pm, BBC Four

As well as being behind this year’s beloved Netflix drama One Day, David Nicholls also penned the 2015 film adaptation of Thomas Hardy’s Far from the Madding Crowd. He talks about the casting of Carey Mulligan as Bathsheba Everdene and how daunting it was to write the screenplay as a massive Hardy fan. The film airs at 9.15pm. HR

The Day of the Jackal

9pm, Sky Atlantic

With his deadeye aim, mastery of disguises and rather fetching cravat, it is rare to see Eddie Redmayne’s urbane assassin on the back foot in this well-heeled espionage thriller. But after his clean-up job in Hungary, the Jackal now finds himself at the mercy of a shotgun-toting farmer resistant to his charms. Graeme Virtue

Sweetpea

10pm, Sky Atlantic

Has Ella Purnell’s Rhiannon met her murderous match in ambitious young police officer Marina (Leah Harvey)? And is ex-bully Julia (Nicôle Lecky) really going to be a trusted accomplice after Rhiannon kidnapped her? It’s the last episode of this black-comedy drama, where any twist could happen. HR

Film choice

The Lost Children, Netflix
The director of Oscar-winning short film The White Helmets, Orlando von Einsiedel, focuses on another set of selfless volunteers in his riveting new documentary. When a plane crashed deep in the Colombian rainforest, a rescue mission found all the bodies apart from four siblings – aged 11 months to 13 years old. The film follows the 40-day hunt by the army and Indigenous volunteers for the missing kids in a country torn apart by violence, guerrilla war and a deep mistrust of the state. Simon Wardell
