“Without Mahek’s involvement with TikTok and general social media, I believe that Saqib Hussain would be alive today.” DI Mark Parish was the senior investigating officer of a fatal car crash in 2022 that killed two 21-year-old men. The TikTok influencer Mahek Bukhari and her mother, Ansreen, were convicted of their murders, after an affair between Hussain and Ansreen. This story is the first in a disturbing, but perhaps inevitable, series about TikTok’s role in murder cases. Hollie Richardson

In Channel 4’s answer to the BBC’s Ambulance, the crews working out of the Stoke, Stafford and Willenhall hubs are constantly on the move, thanks to a huge variety of crises. Ben Fogle: New Lives in the Wild

In Lincolnshire, Fogle hitches a ride with Viking enthusiast Paul, the proud owner of a rugged converted army truck big enough to accommodate a cute dog and a king‑size bed. After bonding over a bachelor’s dinner of beans on toast, Fogle meets Paul’s nomadic circle of friends, who have embraced “vanlife” in a variety of rides. Graeme Virtue

Madeleine Gavin’s tense documentary follows people in North Korea who attempt to leave, despite knowing the severe punishments if caught – including possible execution. Among them are a family of five who embark on a treacherous journey across the Yalu River into the hostile mountains of China. HR

Another hilarious double bill. Baby Colin’s growing pains, to put it mildly, force the vampires to attend private school admission interviews – using hypnosis to try to game the system (spoiler: there are unintended consequences). Film choice
God’s Own Country (Francis Lee, 2017), 1.50am, Film4
Francis Lee’s mud-soaked rural love story is the film Brokeback Mountain could have been with a bit more conviction. Josh O’Connor plays Johnny, a sullen young man struggling to cope on his “shitehole” Yorkshire sheep farm with an elderly nan and a father who’s had a stroke. Then along comes Gheorghe (Alec Secareanu), a Romanian hired for lambing season, whose patience and tenderness tease out Johnny’s dormant better nature. Amid the loneliness and nitty-gritty of the farmer’s lot, something beautiful emerges. Simon Wardell
