Daisy May Cooper and Selin Hizli’s wonderfully bizarre comedy drama gets murkier and funnier as Nic (Cooper) continues to completely spiral. Yes, she is dealing with the emotional turmoil of trying to get away with murdering her extramarital lover and brother-in-law. But she is also doing marriage therapy, worrying about her cat-killing son, Ollie (the awesome Lenny Rush), and oversharing with her fishy friend Jen (Hizli). And all this comes with cracking gag after cracking gag. Hollie Richardson

Steven and Adeola’s family have grown out of their three-bedroom house – to the point of using their en suite bathroom as a walk-in wardrobe. Will a £45,000 budget be enough to make necessary tweaks, or is it time to move on? Kirstie and Phil step in with differing ideas. HR

Rev Alphy Kotteram has been naughty. He has enjoyed a night of passion with a student who has promptly disappeared. Worse still, one of her colleagues has been found dead. Film choice
Rob Peace (Chiwetel Ejiofor, 2024), Paramount+
Written, directed by and co-starring Chiwetel Ejiofor, this “based on a true story” drama undoubtedly qualifies as a labour of love. It traces the youth and young adulthood of an academically gifted New Jersey kid, Rob (a charismatic turn from Tulsa King’s Jay Will), whose father (Ejiofor) has been wrongly jailed for murder. It’s a film about potential realised and wasted and is tragic but inspirational. Rob adopts various personae – Yale student, property developer, teacher, even Walter-White-style drug chemist – all while pursuing his dad’s legal case. Simon Wardell
