It is slightly less claustrophobic than the first series’ nuclear submarine setting, but there’s still plenty of action to get your heart pumping in the return of the intense police thriller series from the makers of Line of Duty. Suranne Jones is back as detective Amy Silva, along with Rose Leslie as her pregnant partner (both at home and at work) Kirsten Longacre. When a drone goes rogue during a British air force weapons test and causes chaos at a Scottish base camp, it becomes clear that something much bigger is at play – leading Amy and Kirsten to another base in the Middle East and into the secret world of drone warfare. An Audience With Kylie

This has been the year of Renaissance Kylie – and last week’s special concert at the Royal Albert Hall was the ultimate celebration. It’s that special time of year when Kirstie Allsopp urges the nation to cobble together homemade decorations. This time, she learns basket-making, colourfully decorates the outside of her “Christmas HQ” and asks top crafters to create tree ornaments that range from needle-felted woodland animals to stained-glass snowflakes. Killing Sherlock: Lucy Worsley on the Case of Conan Doyle

The Sherlock Holmes author finished his first book in just under a month, introducing the man who would go on to become the world’s most famous fictional detective. But, as historian Worsley finds in this passionate three-parter, Conan Doyle had a love/hate relationship with Holmes. She starts with his time as a medical student, when he first had the idea for the sleuth. HR

The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry, 4.20pm, 10.05pm, Sky Cinema Premiere
An inadvertent companion piece to the Timothy Spall drama The Last Bus (Tuesday, 11.15pm, BBC Two), Hettie Macdonald’s superior film also focuses on an old man on an unusual long-distance trip. Jim Broadbent is the British acting royalty here, walking from Devon to Berwick-upon-Tweed to see an ex-colleague dying of cancer – his actions are intended to give her the will to live. The trip forces him to ponder his unexamined life, as it does his wife, Maureen (Penelope Wilton). Not wholly original, then, but tender and thoughtful. Simon Wardell
