Kate Garraway's Life Stories, 9 pm, ITV1

British-Iranian actor, comedian and writer Omid Djalili joins Kate as the final guest in this series – and his interview turns out to be both shocking and uplifting. ‘His actual life story is incredible,’ says Kate. ‘I think if you took it to a Hollywood director, they’d never believe it.

How he’s survived and thrived is so inspiring.’ Omid tells of his erratic home life as a child, with his parents’ flat regularly hosting Iranian nationals visiting London, and also how his acting career took off against the odds after being rejected from 16 drama schools.

The Bold Type, from 9 pm, BBC Three

If you’re a Sex and the City fan, then check out this US comedy drama set in the world of New York fashion journalism, first shown on Prime Video, and now weekly on BBC3, with all five series available on BBC iPlayer. The show centres on three career-driven twentysomethings, Kat (Aisha Dee), Sutton (Meghann Fahy) and Jane (Katie Stevens), who all work for global women’s magazine Scarlet

Loosely inspired by the life of Joanna Coles, former Editor-in-Chief of Marie Claire and Cosmopolitan, the series follows the best friends’ love lives, work woes, identity struggles and the ups and downs of their friendship dynamic.

Annika season 2, 9 pm, Alibi

Annika (Nicola Walker) and her team get a change of scenery in episode two as they head over to Edinburgh to investigate the death of a woman who was found in a dog cage in the river, shortly after being released from prison for killing a man while drink-driving.

Could her conviction be the reason that someone wanted her dead? Meanwhile, motorbike-riding Edinburgh DC Harper Weston (Strike Back’s Varada Sethu) joins the team on attachment, and Annika attempts to prove she’s the funniest member of the Marine Homicide Unit. Keep your eyes peeled for a cameo by series creator Nick Walker as a comedy club MC!
