Good evening, Europe! Alesha Dixon, Julia Sanina, Hannah Waddingham and Graham Norton welcome us back to Liverpool for tonight’s final. The 20 countries who qualified from last week’s semis take on ‘Big Five’ nations France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the UK and 2022 winners Ukraine (all of whom qualified automatically). As well as the fantastic finalists, we can also look forward to a spectacular interval show with a performance from Sam Ryder, and Eurovision favourites playing tribute to the host city with the Liverpool Songbook - but the big excitement comes when those votes start rolling in…

It probably won’t come as news to you that: (a) it’s the final of this year’s Eurovision Song Contest tonight; and (b) that it’s being held in Liverpool – mainly because there have been so many Eurovision and Liverpool-related TV programs in the past week. Today, BBC One goes full throttle on the celebrations, beginning with a specially themed Saturday Kitchen Live (10 am), with guest chefs Olia Hercules, Niklas Ekstedt and Donal Skehan. Other highlights are Pointless Celebrities (5.50 pm), with contestants including former Eurovision winner Jay Aston, The Hit List: Eurovision Special (6.40 pm) and a special version of The One Show (7.30 pm) with Alex Jones and Rylan.

Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton StoryNetflix

We’ve all fallen in love with the scurrilous court gossip of Bridgerton in recent years, and now we get a chance to find out how the colourful and competitive world of ‘the Ton’ came to be in this six-part spin-off. Set decades before the main drama, this prequel tells the story of the 17-year-old Queen Charlotte (India Amarteifio) and her bittersweet romance with husband King George III (Corey Mylchreest). It’s an intimate glimpse into a lavish world and unmissable viewing for Bridgerton fans.

Mrs Harris Goes to Paris, 6 pm, Sky Premiere/NOW

(Image credit: David Lukacs / Ada Films Ltd)

Escapism is French-accented and wears 1950s fashions in an adaptation of Paul Gallico’s novel you might have seen a version of already, with Angela Lansbury in the lead. This time out, it’s Lesley Manville as the London charlady whose dreams of a fabulous Christian Dior frock and a taste of the high life in Paris seem completely unattainable – until she comes into some money. Manville is, as ever, brilliant as the down-to-earth Mrs Harris, the feel-good is off the chart and the supporting cast – including Isabelle Huppert, Anna Chancellor and Jason Isaacs – make this picture-postcard fantasy pretty much unmissable.
