Best TV shows on TV tonight

The Marvelous Mrs Maisel season 5, Prime Video

The Emmy-winning comedy drama returns for a fifth and final season, but will New York City housewife-turned-comedian Miriam ‘Midge’ Maisel (Rachel Brosnahan) finally get her big break? The new run picks up shortly after the previous season, with Midge on track to losing her stand-up career – as well as a frostbitten toe after storming out of Carnegie Hall into a blizzard after a face-off with Lenny Bruce. Can her manager Susie (Alex Borstein) convince Midge to give it one last shot? Look out for Milo Ventimiglia (who was also in creator Amy Sherman-Palladino’s Gilmore Girls) reprising his role as ‘Handsome Man’. Three episodes will be available today, then one weekly.

Pilgrimage: The Road Through Portugal, 9 pm (times vary), BBC Two/BBC iPlayer (box set)

The seven pilgrims—including ever-chirpy Su Pollard and chilled Boyzone member Shane Lynch—are somewhat bleary-eyed when they awake in the village of Vitorino dos Piães in northern Portugal. It’s been another eventful night and with all of them sharing a room, they’ve been struggling to get a good night’s sleep. Undeterred, they’re soon donning their boots and rucksacks to visit a UNESCO landmark and celebrated Christian pilgrimage site, the Sanctuary of Bom Jesus do Monte (Good Jesus of the Mount). However, a few smiles quickly fade when they realise they need to climb more than 500 steps to reach it!

The Last Thing He Told Me, Apple TV Plus

Jennifer Garner stars in this gripping seven-part thriller – based on the best-selling novel of the same name by Laura Dave – as Hannah, whose husband Owen (Game of Thrones’ Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) disappears suddenly one day when the software company he works for is implicated in a very public financial scandal. Unable to contact Owen, Hannah eventually receives a short message simply saying ‘protect her’ – referring to Owen’s 16-year-old daughter Bailey (Mare of Easttown’s Angourie Rice). Forced to overcome their previously brittle relationship, Hannah and her stepdaughter are left with big questions to answer: chiefly, did either of them know the real Owen at all?

Best box set on TV tonight

Beef, Netflix

Beef is a new 10-part comedy series about two people who collide after a road rage incident. This causes Danny Cho (Steven Yeun), a failing contractor with a chip on his shoulder, to go head-to-head with Amy Lau (Ali Wong), a self-made entrepreneur with a picturesque life.

Danny and Amy find their lives affected by this seemingly everyday encounter. With a great supporting cast on board too, this "edgy, smart, revenge fable" should be perfect binge-watch material.

No Time To Die, 8 pm, ITV2

There’s always plenty of speculation about the next James Bond (Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Henry Cavill seem current favourites), but for vintage 007 look no further than Daniel Craig’s final outing.

It’s long – two-and-a-half hours, plus ad breaks – but it’s all (licence to) killer and no filler. It begins with a breathtaking pre-titles sequence, set in the sun-drenched Italian city of Matera, and doesn’t let up for a second. Rami Malek is Bond villain Safin and Lashana Lynch is MI5 agent Nomi, while Léa Seydoux and Christoph Waltz reprise their roles from Spectre
