The Responder

9pm, BBC One

Martin Freeman returns as troubled, dodgy night-response officer Chris Carson in Tony Schumacher’s gritty Liverpool crime drama. Six months after the murder of drug dealer Carl Sweeney, Chris is now in group therapy to help deal with the job’s traumas – and he’s ready to go straight. Wishful thinking! When DI Barnes (Amaka Okafor) tricks him into conducting a dodgy car stop, he is dragged into a drug war between two of the city’s top dealers. And then there’s all the trouble at home … Hollie Richardson

Our Welsh Chapel Dream

8pm, Channel 4

Keith Brymer Jones, the Great Pottery Throw Down judge who famously bursts into tears at the sight of a well-turned pot, embarks on his own reality TV adventure, as he and his partner Marj renovate a 160-year-old derelict chapel in Pwllheli, Gwynedd. Upon arrival, their first task is to evict the current inhabitants: pigeons. Jack Seale

The Piano

9pm, Channel 4

Claudia Winkleman, Mika and Lang Lang head to Cardiff Central Station in search of more sob stories – and some talented amateur pianists. Hitting the keys this week: a set of triplets, a man with a song about conkers and an angelic Welsh performance that reduces everyone to tears. HR

I Kissed a Girl

9pm, BBC Three

At a sun-drenched “masseria” in Italy, 10 women are seeking love by the pool, in a follow-up to last year’s all-male dating show. Dannii Minogue is back to host and, as before, it all starts with a kiss: no small talk, no hand-holding – just straight in for a smooch. Ellen E Jones

The Incredibly Talented Lucy

10.05pm, Channel 4

“Lucy makes you completely rethink how the brain works … and how the heart works.” Two remarkable stories are told in this tearjerking documentary, as it follows last year’s 13-year-old winner of The Piano, Lucy – who is completely blind and has a chromosome 16 duplication – and her devoted teacher, Daniel, as they prepare to play at King Charles’s coronation. Passover UK: A Jewish Journey

10.20pm, ITV1

Passover is a time for reflection for Jewish people, marking as it does the exodus of the Israelites from Egypt. In this documentary, Sam Holder joins Jewish families across the UK as they gather for eight days of celebration, beginning with the traditional Seder feast. Along the way, he reflects on life for Jewish people in Britain in 2024. Phil Harrison

Film choice

Senna, 11.20pm, Channel 4

The charismatic, risk-taking Brazilian Formula One driver Ayrton Senna may be an obvious subject for a documentary, but Asif Kapadia’s film is probably the definitive take on his life – and death. Contemporary and new interviews, and lots of in-car and behind-the-pit-lane footage, reveal a man pushing himself to the limit season after season. The rivalry with Alain Prost – a more political operator known as the Professor – is spicy and dramatic, while Senna’s role as an idol (or opiate) for Brazil’s impoverished masses gives him a wider relevance than just sport. Fascinating and tragic. Simon Wardell
