The Cleaner

9.30pm, BBC One

Crime scene cleaner Wicky (Greg Davies) is back – and, thanks to a new girlfriend, he’s sporting an earring and is off the booze. It’s bad luck, then, that his first job of this second season is cleaning up after a brawl in a pub, where Lisa (Harriet Walter) is the landlord. It’s not long until she is tempting him with pints – and asking him if the new relationship is worth it. Hollie Richardson

Dispatches: Locked Away – Our Autism Scandal

7.30pm, Channel 4

An extraordinary snapshot of life inside Britain’s mental health units. Award-winning autistic director Richard Butchins joins forces with incarcerated autistic patients to expose failings hidden behind locked doors. Filmed secretly by patients, this troubling film uncovers a system in crisis. Danielle De Wolfe

Beyond Paradise

8pm, BBC One

Close encounters of the cosy crime kind, when a dead body is found in the middle of a crop circle and DI Humphrey Goodman (Kris Marshall) wants to include UFOs on the suspect list. Luckily, DS Williams (Zahra Ahmadi) has more sensible leads to follow, starting with activity at a local farm. Ellen E Jones

Becoming Frida Kahlo

9pm, BBC Two

In the final act of this three-part documentary on the life of the Mexican artist, we track the triumphs and tragedies that visited her later years. The film focuses on the interplay between Kahlo’s personal, political and artistic life, as she faces infidelity, disability and grief, and her surrealist work really comes into its own. We are left with a portrait of the artist that expands on her mainstream image. Micha Frazer-Carroll

After her gutsy supporting roles in Ray Donovan and Deadwood, it is heartening to see Paula Malcomson lead her own gritty drama as a driven Liverpool cop in Dublin to deal with a family tragedy. After last week’s place-setting opener revealed a stash of cash and pills, Colette delves deeper into her estranged daughter’s secret life. Graeme Virtue
