Ukraine: Enemy in the Woods

9pm, BBC Two

“It would be great if I could take a pill,” says Ukrainian unit commander Vovan, “to erase my memories.” This extraordinary documentary is, mercifully, as close as most of us will ever get to the battlefield, tracking the exploits of the Berlingo battalion as they defend a railway line. It is revelatory and traumatic; there’s astounding footage of improvised grenades killing Russian soldiers, closeup battlefield triage and endless gallows humour. Phil Harrison

Panorama: Immigration – The UK’s Record Rise

8pm, BBC One

Ros Atkins crunches the numbers behind the always vexed debate on immigration to the UK. Despite government promises to the contrary, it has increased in the last two years. What lies behind this rise? And is it necessarily a bad thing? Atkins also meets people running businesses that rely on immigrant labour to survive. PH

Grand Indian Hotel

8pm, Channel 4

There’s some pretty standard wealth-ogling with a side order of Indian exoticism in this new three-part series, functioning as passable advertorial content for the Oberoi group of hotels. It starts in Jaipur, with staff preparing for the social event of the year, a lavish dinner for a maharaja. Sadly, incontinent elephants threaten to spoil the show. PH

Anton & Giovanni’s Adventures in Spain

9pm, BBC One

As Du Beke and Pernice stroll through the crowds of Benidorm to the soundtrack of the Macarena, it looks like a missed opportunity to go beyond the obvious hotspots. Fortunately, they move on to rice fields near Valencia to pick ingredients for paella, before heading to Madrid for a joyous dance with the locals. Hannah Verdier

Loaded in Paradise

9pm, ITV2

In the mood for some background TV? This reality game sees five improbably attractive pairs chase one another around Greece’s sun-soaked Ionian Islands in a bid to be the first to find a gold card loaded with cash. It’s Love Island, basically, but with less sexual tension and far more running and riddles. Kayleigh Dray

The Underdog: Josh Must Win

9pm, E4

“They feel like reality stars we made in a lab.” Nick Grimshaw’s assessment of the vain, banal cast assembled for a gameshow called The Favourite is fair. But there’s a twist: Josh is a token nerd – and the only way anyone can bag a share of the £10k prize is if Josh wins. Along with Grimshaw, three other reality veterans will be trying to rig the game. Excruciating. PH
