The Dry

10.15pm, ITV1

This cracking Irish dramedy from the Normal People producers was overlooked when it streamed on ITVX last year. Roisin Gallagher is newly sober 35-year-old Shiv, who gives up her hedonistic London life and returns to Dublin, where her granny has just died. “But she was always such fun?” one confused aunt says when she learns of Shiv’s sobriety – just one hilarious line in a story told with the perfect blend of heart and humour. Hollie Richardson

Call the Midwife

8pm, BBC One

All eyes are on the cosmos in Poplar, as residents gather together – egged on by Sister Monica Joan, of course – to watch Neil Armstrong take one giant leap for mankind. Elsewhere, tensions between Trixie and Matthew reach fever-pitch, and pupil midwife Joyce finds herself faced with a dilemma. Kayleigh Dray

The Tourist

9pm, BBC One

It’s the series denouement and Elliot and Helen race to defuse tensions between the rival McDonnell and Cassidy families – with Elliot taking a potentially catastrophic stab at reconciling with his own folk. Can the pair halt the violence, before the rather moving final scene? Ali Catterall

Wilderness With Simon Reeve

9pm, BBC Two

“We’re going up!” Brace yourselves: the adventurer ascends the perilous Andes in search of the South Patagonian ice field. There is a casualty that sends one of his team back down, a violent tent-whipping storm, and for every two steps forward Reeve is blown back. HR

Trigger Point

9pm, ITV1

Vicky McClure returns as Lana for the second series of this enjoyably OTT bomb disposal drama from Jed Mercurio’s production company. How will she tackle the gigantic bomb blast that just happens to go off while she’s giving a routine training talk? Hopefully with the same level of high-octane ridiculousness and pyrotechnic-based twistiness as the first series. The action movie vibes of the set-up certainly bode well. Alexi Duggins

Big Boys

10pm, Channel 4

White and gold? Blue and black? We’re back in the heady days of “The Dress” meme, as Jack does everything he can to give Danny a birthday to remember – only for his best-laid plans to go wrong. Spectacularly so. There’s plenty to laugh about, but be warned: this is easily one of the most emotional episodes of the series so far. KD
