TV reporter shows appearance on and off screen saying 'don't trust social media'

A news reporter has been praised for her honest post showing the reality behind her on-screen appearances.

Looking glamorous comes with the job for news anchor Deanna Falzone, but the stresses of juggling being a mum to two sons, 3am alarms and dealing with every day life can often leave her feeling anything but.

In a message on Facebook , she said she wanted other mums to know they are not alone and 'despite the tough days, they are still enough'.

She shared before and after photos showing how she looks on and off screen, as the Fox17 in West Michigan reporter encouraged parents not compare themselves to others.

The post gained hundreds of shares and comments, as others hailed her 'an inspiration to us all'.

She was praised for the honest post (Facebook)

She says she's often running late for work because 'a sick three-month-old baby and a 3am start for work don't mix well'.

"I get to work and Avery says 'do you know your shirt is on inside out?' Yes, Yes I do.

"I also haven't washed or really brushed my hair since last Sunday. Can you tell?

"My point?! Let's be honest... we're all a hot mess, just pretending to have it all together (or maybe some days we actually do)."

Deanna told people not to believe everything they see on social media (Facebook)

She says that her anxiety 'has been at an all time high' but every day she tries - with some days being more successful than others.

"So, don't be so hard on yourself," she wrote. "Don't let what you see on social media fool you into thinking that's reality.

"It's what happens 'behind the scenes' that's always the hardest, but also what makes you stronger.

"Ooo and thank goodness for dry shampoo, bronzer and coffee."

Hoping the message would be able to help just one person who needed to it, others thanked her for the honesty.

One wrote: "Deanna I love that you shared this. Nice to see genuine people. We are all in this together."

Another replied: "I really love how real you are!! You are beautiful in both pictures. Keep being the best version of you!! You're doing great momma!!"
