Laura Whitmore is unrecognisable and barely visibly in a striking new photo shoot, which sees her blend into a wildflower meadow and a luxurious bathroom.The Irish TV presenter underwent an extensive eight-hour transformation at the hands of renowned artist Carolyn Roper, who expertly camouflaged her among Timothy grass, rosemary, and jasmine, as well as a roll-top bath.
The 39-year-old teamed up with Timotei for the head-turning shoot to promote the haircare brand’s new podcast series A Gentle Start: The Showercast.
The former Love Island host is the podcast’s first guest and in her episode reflects on regaining control of her life after a high-profile media career, overcoming personal challenges, and advocating for herself in the workplace.
The podcast, designed for a 10-minute shower, follows new research from Timotei revealing that 86% of UK adults have explored "gentle living"—a trend focused on managing modern pressures with kindness, calm, and simplicity.
The study found people embrace this mindset most in nature (58%) and while bathing or showering (43%), with many trying gentle living to reduce stress (52%) and simplify their lifestyle (43%).
The research also showed that 94% feel the need to slow down, citing the fast pace of life, technology overload (58%), and work commitments (40%) as key factors.
"In my busy life, it's essential to embrace gentle living and take time for self-care,” Whitmore said of the campaign.
“Whether it's a calming bath, a hair mask, or a peaceful walk with my dog, these simple acts help me reset.
“I loved sharing my morning routine on the podcast and discussing personal challenges, like learning to speak up at work.”
Aside from Whitmore, Amber Gill, Martine McCutcheon, Chessie King, and Ashley James also appear on the podcast and reflect on what gentle living means to them.
Earlier this month, Whitmore shared her thoughts after the BBC announced the results of a six-month investigation into misconduct allegations against her former Strictly professional dance partner Giovanni Pernice.
The TV presenter - who was partnered with the Italian dancer back in 2016 - was one of the stars who spoke to the BBC as part of its probe after what she described as his 'inappropriate' behaviour on the show.
Whitmore claimed that she first raised concerns back in 2016 and in August 2024, she accused the broadcaster of “gaslighting” her over her experience with Pernice.
Taking to social media after the results of their findings were published, Whitmore wrote: "'I hope this helps people realise they should not be subjected to abusive behaviour in the workplace.
"Things can be twisted online and there's so much more to this but in black and white there were complaints upheld and an apology made. And the perpetrator no longer works for the channel."
