TV presenter Sarah Beeny shares emotional cancer update after 'rollercoaster' year

TV presenter Sarah Beeny said it has been a "rollercoaster ride" since her breast cancer diagnosis in August 2022, as she gave an emotional update. The 51-year-old, who is known for presenting Property Ladder and Sarah Beeny's New Life in the Country, underwent gruelling radiotherapy and chemotherapy as well as a double mastectomy back in February.

Sarah made the decision to shave off all her hair after it fell out in handfuls while she went through treatment, reports Yorkshire Live. In January, Sarah announced she wasn't having any more chemotherapy and showed off her newly grown back hair, which her sons had dyed platinum blonde.

Talking to Christine Lampard on ITV's Lorraine on Friday morning, April 14, Sarah shared a life update ahead of series three of Sarah Beeny's New Life in the Country next week. The mum-of-four said: "It's been a bit of a rollercoaster ride but I feel very fortunate that I had the diagnosis that I did and that I am the age that I am. So many things that I am fortunate for, I feel very blessed.

"[There has been] so much support, I can't tell you how lovely everyone has been. It's been overwhelming."

Sarah, whose mum Ann died of breast cancer at the age of 39, has shared the good news that she has been given the all-clear by doctors but admitted it felt "weird". She said she would always remain vigilant and continue to attend regular check-ups.

She told Christine: "It's good but it's weird because they kind of go 'that's it then' and you kind of go 'well, how do you know?'. It's a weird end, you feel like there should be a kind of moment there. It's been a weird ride that I wouldn't wish on anyone else but I'm glad I did it and not somebody else."

On Monday, April 17, the property expert and her family will return to our screens at 8pm on Channel 4.
