TV presenter Neena Pacholke found dead seven weeks before her wedding

US news anchor Neena Pacholke killed herself seven weeks before she was due to tie the knot.

A friend asked the police to do a welfare check before they found the 27-year-old dead in her and her fiancé's new home in Wausau, Wisconsin.

"After receiving no answer at the door, officers entered the home and found Pacholke deceased," a police press release stated.

Police confirmed her death and said: "The Wausau Police and Marathon County Medical Examiner's Office have confirmed that 27-year-old Neena Pacholke died as a result of suicide."

Neena and her fiancé Kyle Haase were together for two years.

Neena and Kyle met at a funeral in November 2020 and were due to tie the knot on October 12 in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico.

They originally planned a big wedding in their hometown for next summer but brought the date forward. He proposed to her on May 9.

Speaking about Neena's death, a friend said that the newscaster always had a 'great smile on her face'.

"But for her to commit suicide there must have been some life-altering moment in her mind to take her own life," they said, according to DailyMail.com.

Meanwhile, Neena's mother, Laurie Pacholke, told WAOW-9: "She was getting treatment. I'll put it out there – she had been to the crisis centre a couple of times.

"She had so many people here to talk to. She talked to people, but she didn't want anybody to know how she was hurting so she didn't talk until it got so bad."

Her parents also confirmed she suffered from mental health issues for many years.

A celebration of her life will be held at a local church in the Wasau area.
