TV presenter Holly Willoughby's absence on ITV's This Morning explained

ITV's This Morning and Dancing on Ice presenter Holly Willoughby was missing from the Monday morning lineup on This Morning, as Josie Gibson is presenting alongside Phillip Schofield.

Holly also had to pull out just hours before the Dancing on Ice semi-final show on Sunday evening, with Phillip revealing the reason why quite last-minute before the live airing.

And it is likely that Holly will not feature on This Morning for the rest of the week, as she tested positive for coronavirus on Sunday morning.

Speaking on the show this morning, Phil said: "Well, we were absolutely convinced that working all the way through the pandemic, that we might well be immune.

"And then it got me a few weeks ago, and over the weekend, it's got Holly. So, she's tested positive and she is at home watching, and it is the weirdest thing in the world when you can't present and you're watching it from home.

Stand-in presenter Josie Gibson also sent her well wishes to her co-star, and Phil assured fans and Holly that he was "in safe hands" with Josie at the helm of the show alongside him.

Holly should be well enough to return for the Dancing on Ice final in a couple of weeks according to ITV, as a spokesperson said last night: ""Unfortunately, Holly Willoughby is unable to host tonight's show after testing positive for Covid-19.

"We look forward to Holly returning for the Dancing on Ice Live Final."

ITV's This Morning airs every weekday on the channel from 10am onwards.
