Children's TV icon Timmy Mallett is to auction off a limited print of his painting depicting the River Tay at dusk to support a charity that helped his late brother, who died in 2018.
Mallett, once renowned for shows like Wide Awake Club and Wacaday, has since turned his hand to fine art, and painted the Tay from Fife on a glowing evening.
He has given one of just 99 prints of the artwork to Sense Scotland's online auction, which runs until tomorrow afternoon - and the donation has a poignant overtone.
Mallett's older brother Martin had Down's Syndrome and lived in Aberdeen's Newton Dee supported community for most of his life.
Sadly, he died in March 2018 after a battle with dementia.
Speaking to The Courier at the time, Mallett said of his brother: "He leaves a huge, Martin shaped, hole in our lives.
“We’ll miss his phrases, such as: ‘You me’ and ‘I’m happy…’
“Never was there a finer example of living in the moment."
The pair would often make trips to Dundee, and Timmy shared one snap of them standing atop the Law online.
Following Martin's death Mallett - a keen cyclist - embarked on a huge cycling tour of Spain and is currently aiming to cycle 4,000 miles in 100 days with a tour of the UK.
Sense Scotland supports people with complex communication needs, from those with additional support requirements to people who are deafblind.
The charity said it was "incredibly grateful" for the donation from the legendary telly presenter - who was never without his iconic "Mallett's Mallet" to bonk kids on the head.
Timmy has been a frequent visitor to Tayside, and has even been spotted visiting Tannadice with Dundee United fan Lorraine Kelly in recent years.
