TV icon Lorraine Kelly shares weight loss after jumping four sizes in lockdown

Scottish journalist and television icon Lorraine Kelly has taken to social media to celebrate reaching a major weight loss goal.

The ITV presenter has been working hard alongside WW, formerly Weight Watchers, in order to shed one and a half stone from her figure, the Daily Record reports. The 62-year-old television host shared that she began her journey during lockdown, as she went from a size 10 to 14 over the pandemic, which caused her to have confidence issues.

It even impacted her attendance at important events, which meant she knew things had to change. Since then, she has teamed up with WW to lose some weight, and now feels "healthier and happier" than ever, according to social media.

She had noted that her dieting didn't come at a cost of cutting out foods completely, but is more of an awareness of what she eats. Posting on Instagram, the TV icon said: "GOAL REACHED! Lost one and a half stone!Feel healthier and happier Thank you @ww.uk and @wwsuzystirfry."

Celebrity Ambassador for WW, Coach Suzy Stirlin, also shared the happy moment on social media, writing: "oweeee! What a day! Please join me in congratulating @lorrainekellysmith for getting to Goal and reaching WW GOLD STATUS!!!

"Lorraine has dropped 21lb resulting in two dress sizes from a size 14 to a comfortable 10. I think you’ll all agree with me that she looks amazing.

"@ww.uk and I couldn’t be prouder of how hard Lorraine has worked and how dedicated to the plan she has been. Her efforts really have paid off and her smile says it all. Well done Lorraine."

When discussing her weight loss path with OK! Magazine, Lorraine had said: "It’s not about cutting things out completely, but with the Weight Watcher points you get each day, it just makes you more aware of what you’re eating."

Lorraine's self-titled ITV show is on each weekday at 9am. It is available for catch-up thereafter on the ITV Hub.
