Germans and a sense of humour aren’t usual bedfellows - unless, of course, you are top TV funnyman Henning Wehn.
The popular comic is bringing his unique take on life to Dundee and Arbroath later this month.
He is set to give everything a good rinse in his brand new tour ‘It’ll All Come Out In The Wash’ which will see the German stand-up wring sense out of the nonsensical.
And describing himself as ‘everyone’s favourite German Comedy Ambassador’ he is hoping to get a few rounds of golf in while he’s up here.
Henning spoke to Dundee Live before his trip north, telling us: "The last time I was in Dundee the town centre was still a building site. Can't wait to see the V&A in its full glory this time."
And talking about his date at Arbroath’s Webster Memorial theatre, he added: “I’m planning on getting to the area a day early and lose umpteen balls at Carnoustie. How hard can it be?!"
Comedy is not the easiest of jobs for Henning because Germans allegedly do not have a sense of humour - he does not find that funny, apparently.
He began stand-up in October 2003 after watching an open mic night that left him convinced that he wouldn’t be all that much worse.
While Henning sees himself as one of Britain’s foremost social commentators, everybody else describes him as ‘that German bloke’.
He claims he has no agenda, he ‘just happens to be always spot on - it’s a curse.’
His most recent television and radio appearances include "Have I Got News For You" BBC1, "Would I Lie To You" BBC1, "Live At The Apollo" BBC2, "Guessable" Comedy Central and "Question Time" BBC1.
He has also starred on "8 Out Of Cats Does Countdown" Channel 4, "Fighting Talk" BBC Radio 5 Live and "The Unbelievable Truth" BBC Radio 4.
He is playing Arbroath on Thursday 21st April and Dundee on the 22nd April.
