Chef Rachel Allen has said she was overwhelmed by the kindness of strangers after her eldest son was jailed for drugs offences.
The 50-year-old admitted that being in the public eye as her son Joshua, 22, went through a tough time has been challenging, but that she has also had a lot of support from strangers.
Speaking to the Irish Sunday Mirror Rachel said: "The amount of people who have written to me, I cannot tell you. The kindness from strangers... people say I’ve never met you, but I’m sending you this card, I’m sending you this email.

“I mean sending me miraculous medals. I’m not Catholic but I treasure every single one of them.”
At a recent court hearing it was revealed that Joshua, has set up his own stone carving business and also trains five days per week in Mixed Martial Arts.
When asked if she ever stops worrying about her three children, she replied: “No. Lucca’s in LMP3, it’s racing, and racing very fast but he’s very into it, very focused.
"I worry about him constantly, I worry about them all constantly.”

The Restaurant airs on Virgin Media One on Tuesday at 9pm.
