A Nottinghamshire fish and chip shop is being praised for its innovative thinking after the owner decided to change its vinegar bottles. Costa Costi, 57, who has been in the trade for more than 30 years, decided to swap his squeezy vinegar bottles for spray bottles, which are more effective in covering all of your chips in vinegar.
Costa explained that it was a relatively recent change that he made, but he is pleased with how effective it is and has been recieving praise from customers. He said: "It came to me about six months ago maybe a year, I was dowsing down my plants in my home with a spray bottle and I thought why not try this on the fish and chips.
"Then that was it, that was when the penny dropped basically and I've been doing it ever since. All the customers love it, they all comment what a great idea it is and say they'll try it at home."

He added: "Its useful for us as well as it covers the whole tray of chips or fish without splashing it everywhere and keeps it more tidy on the counter, and it gets to the bottom of the chips as well."
The spray bottles were praised by Smooth Radio presenter Gareth Evans. On Twitter, he wrote: "As heard on SmoothBreakfast @smootheastmids my chippy at Tuxford has done away with the sprinkly vinegar bottle and replaced it with this! Even distribution of vinegar!!! GENIUS!! GAME CHANGING!!!"
