In a moment of pure internet gold, this week saw Timothée Chalamet make headlines (again) when he rocked up to the London premiere of his new film A Complete Unknown on a Lime electric bike.
But as it turns out, the eco-friendly decision didn’t come without some consequences – it also came with a penalty for — get this — parking incorrectly.
As reported by Variety, the actor — who’s been making waves for both his performance in the Bob Dylan biopic and his offbeat press tour antics lately — confessed to French talk show Quotidien the move came along with a US$73 (AUD$118) fine.
“It’s ecological!” Chalamet quipped when asked about his bike choice, though he quickly admitted the real motivation was far more practical: “I needed to get to the premiere on time.”
Photographer Aidan Zamiri, who attended the premier with Timmy, also shared a series of Instagram Stories about their bike adventure and a warning from Lime for “incorrect parking”.

Still, the media value of the stunt alone is several hundred times more than the fine — and let’s be honest, Timmy can afford it. Honestly, it’s just another stop on a press run for the ages. Every other celebrity: take note.
Set to hit Australian screens later this month, A Complete Unknown sees Chalamet take on the role of Bob Dylan (sporting the shaggy black curls, Dylan’s signature Ray Bans, and all). Chatter so far suggests it could lead to the Dune star’s next Oscars nod.
A Complete Unknown follows the story of 19-year-old Bob Dylan’s arrival to New York City in 1961, his meteoric rise to stardom and the decision to leave folk music, switch to electric guitars, and form a band.
Pretty poetic to make it to the premiere in an electric bike then? (We’ll see ourselves out.)
