Michigan State came into a game against Maryland reeling after a 41-7 loss to Washington and they didn’t help themselves as they looked to bounce back. The Spartans finished with five turnovers and eight dropped passes en route to a 31-9 loss to Maryland.
While the score looked bad, the game was much closer, with the Spartans shooting themselves in the foot time after time.
Buy Spartans TicketsMichigan State opened the game with an interception, goal line fail and fumble to dig themselves a 21-0 deficit. Although down, MSU wasn’t out and continued to battle in the game, but mistakes kept coming up.
A drop by Montorie Foster in the endzone led to a missed field goal, while a Noah Kim overthrow also kept the Spartans from scoring.
Katin Houser took over for Noah Kim in the game, and led a very nice drive inside the Maryland 5-yard line, but an interception on a screen pass continued the woes for the Spartans.
MSU will look to bounce back next week when they travel to Iowa for a night game at Kinnick in Iowa City. The Spartans and Hawkeyes will face off at 7:30 EST on NBC.
