Authorities in Thessaloniki, Greece, reported a tragic incident on Tuesday where a Turkish national lost his life and another individual was injured in a shooting. The incident took place near the city's long-distance bus terminal around 1 p.m. local time. According to the survivor's account, the victims were driving when their path was blocked by another vehicle, and an assailant inside that car opened fire.
The driver sustained injuries and was promptly taken to the hospital for treatment, while the passenger tragically lost their life. Police officers investigating the scene discovered nine bullet casings, indicating the severity of the attack.

Both individuals involved in the shooting had been residing legally in Greece for approximately two years, as confirmed by authorities. The police have assigned the organized crime unit to delve into the details of this violent incident.
While Greece generally experiences low levels of gun violence, the presence of organized crime groups in the country is a known concern. In recent years, there have been instances of shootings linked to Turkish organized crime syndicates. One of the most notable incidents occurred in September 2023, where six Turks were fatally shot in a car ambush in a seaside town near Athens.
