Tulse Hill: Teenage woman attacked by four men and stabbed near station

An 18-year-old woman is “extremely lucky” to have avoided serious injury after she was stabbed by a gang of thugs on a notorious south London street which has seen multiple shootings in recent days.

Police launched an investigation after finding the injured teenager suffering knife wounds opposite Tulse Hill station at 9.20pm on Tuesday.

The latest attack came after two men were shot in separate attacks on the same street last week.

Officers provided first aid to the woman who was taken to a south London hospital for treatment.

Her injuries have been confirmed by police as not life-threatening and she continues to make a recovery.

Police believe the victim was knifed by a group of four men who fled the scene.

Det Sgt Tom Dunn said: “We know there were a lot of cars driving past the station around the time of this attack.

“I would ask any driver who was in the area at around 9.20pm on Tuesday, 20 December and saw the events unfold to get in contact – I would also urge road users to check their dash cam footage to see if you have recorded the incident.

“A young woman has been extremely lucky to have escaped more serious injury and we need to make sure those responsible are identified and held to account.”

There have been no arrests, so far in the investigation.

Detectives said they were retaining an open mind as to the motive at this time and have not linked the stabbing to previous shootings in the area.
