Tulsa King season 2: release date, teaser, cast and everything we know about the Sylvester Stallone series

Sylvester Stallone in Tulsa King.

Long live the king, as Tulsa King season 2, Sylvester Stallone's, Taylor Sheridan-created Paramount Plus original series, is on the way.

Tulsa King season 1 premiered all the way back in November 2022, with a special broadcast on the Paramount Network of its first episode before the remaining episodes of the season played exclusively on Paramount Plus. That special broadcast drew the biggest rating for a new cable debut in 2022, besting even House of the Dragon season 1. It probably did help that Tulsa King had Yellowstone season 5 as a lead-in. Still, Tulsa King received plenty of kudos on its own. Per Rotten Tomatoes, critics gave the show a 79% "Fresh" rating while 91% of viewers rated it positively. So clearly there's a fandom for Stallone’s first TV leading man role.

With that in mind, here is everything that we know so far about Tulsa King season 2.

Tulsa King season 2 release date

Tulsa King season 2 is set to premiere on Sunday, September 15, on Paramount Plus in the US and Canada, with UK and other international subscribers to Paramount Plus getting the series starting Monday, September 16.

At this time there is no indication if the season 2 premiere is going to get a special broadcast on Paramount Network, but Tulsa King season 1 is going to air on CBS in July, giving those who may not have seen the show in its original run catch up before the season 2 premiere.

But, if you want to watch season 2, you are going to need a Paramount Plus subscription. For US subscribers, either the Paramount Plus Essential or Paramount Plus with Showtime plan will get you access to Tulsa King season 2 episodes as soon as they are available.

Tulsa King season 2 plot

Tulsa King centers around gangster Dwight Manfredi, who after serving an extended prison sentence for his mob family is unceremoniously sent to Tulsa, Okla., and told to set up operations there. Once there, he begins the operation his way, with a crew of unlikely characters, to create his own criminal empire.

By the end of season 1, we saw that Dwight had indeed established himself in Tulsa, besting a local biker gang and separating himself from his former mob family back in New York.

Here is the official synopsis for Tulsa King season 2:

"Dwight and his crew continue to build up and defend their growing empire in Tulsa, but just as they get their bearings, they realize that they’re not the only ones who want to stake their claim. With looming threats from the Kansas City mob and a very powerful local businessman, Dwight struggles to keep his family and crew safe while keeping track of all his affairs. Plus, he still has unfinished business back in New York."

Sylvester Stallone plays Dwight Manfredi in Tulsa King, with the role serving as Stallone's first leading man job in a TV series. Stallone, of course, is best known for playing iconic characters like Rocky Balboa and Rambo in those franchises, but more recently has also been seen in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Samaritan and The Suicide Squad. He also stars in his own reality series, The Family Stallone.

Other members of the cast returning for season 2 are Martin Starr (Silicon Valley) as Bodhi, Jay Will (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel) as Tyson, Max Casella (The Tender Bar) as Armand, Andre Savage (I'm Sorry) as Stacy Beale, Dana Delany (Mayans M.C. season 5) as Margaret Devereux, Garrett Hedlund (Mudbound) as Mitch, Vincent Piazza (Boardwalk Empire) as Vince, Domenick Lombardozzi (Reacher) as Chickie, Tatiana Zappardino (The Consultant) as Tina and Annabella Sciorra (Truth Be Told) as Joanne.

A couple of new additions to the Tulsa King cast are Neal McDonough, who previously appeared in Yellowstone season 2, and Frank Grillo, best known for playing Crossbones in the MCU.
