Roger Tuivasa-Sheck will make his highly anticipated Super Rugby debut on Saturday.

The former Sydney Roosters premiership player and NZ Warriors star has been named at inside centre for the Blues as they battle the Hurricanes in their first game of the Super Rugby Pacific season.

The 195-game NRL talent penned a contract with New Zealand Rugby early in 2021 before departing the Warriors mid-season to beat impending travel restrictions.

Blues coach Leon MacDonald said the dynamic NRL fullback had slotted seamlessly into his new code.

"Roger has settled in extremely well and fitted into rugby like the professional he is," he told the Blues website.

"If we can get some good front-foot ball it will be interesting to see the backline in action."

The Blues were scheduled to start their season last weekend before their clash with Moana Pasifika was postponed.

When he signed with the Blues, Tuivasa-Sheck cited a "long-time dream" to play rugby union.

He represented New Zealand's schoolboys team before he was signed by the Roosters in 2011.

Tuivasa-Sheck was part of the Roosters' 2013 premiership, where he played on the wing.

He has signed with New Zealand Rugby and the Blues through the end of 2023.
