TUI has sent out an important warning to all customers who have booked a holiday with the operator for this year.
The travel provider is warning people about passport rules. Its message comes after one teenager was refused to board a Ryanair flight despite their passport meeting the new EU rule.
Finance expert Martin Lewis has also warned holidaymakers to make sure they check their passports for certain criteria before they fly. TUI said customers who are travelling to some non-EU countries will require at least six months' validity left on passports on the date of arrival in the destination country, the MEN reports.

They are recommending that holidaymakers check their destinations Foreign travel advice and to check their passport expiry date before they set off on their trip. For those who are travelling to an EU country, TUI said customers will need to look at their passport's issue date as well as the expiry date, and that their passport must be no more than 10 years old when they enter the destination country.
For most European countries, TUI said travellers must have at least three months left on their passport on the date they are due to travel home. Passport renewals via the HM Passport Office is currently advising that travellers should allow up to 10 weeks to renew their passport.
